Travolta at the launch of Breitling Navtimer Blue Sky
By Trupti Mulajkar — November 04, 2012
John Travolta, a certified 747 pilot, is well known for his love for aviation and planes, so it was a natural choice when he endorsed the watch brand Breitling.
Recently John was at an event in Singapore to launch the Breitling Navtimer Blue Sky collection. In the year 1962, astronaut Scott Carpenter wore the Breitling Navtimer with the 24 hour format on his successful Apollo mission. Carpenter had initiated the 24 hour version of the watch from Breitling in 1961, stating that it would make telling time in easy when in space where it tough to decide whether it is morning, afternoon or night.
Travolta as brand ambassador for the brand, represents a very niche group of hobbyist aviator pilots. Breitling has made only a limited edition 500 pieces of the Navtimer Blue Sky. Since the watch can show 2 time zones simultaneously, it has been a favorite among people who travel regularly or work in the travel sector. The watch has been priced at $ 13,270.
